What the numbers say
Every figure below is measured across the whole catalog, from published print runs and the lowest current asking price we can find for each card. No estimates, no guesses about what a card should be worth. Figures will change as we're able to find and price more cards. Thank you for your patience.
What Is in the Catalog
The base every other figure on this page is measured against.
Counts cover every product the site shows. Odds figures are the manufacturer's own published pull rates, one per parallel per box type.
Scarcity, Priced Out
Average lowest asking price by print run, across every card where we hold both the run and a live listing. This is the curve the whole hobby runs on.
How Each Category Is Moving
The median price across all cards other than base cards in each category. The line follows the same cards over time: we compare each card worth $5 or more against its own last price, then average those changes across the category.
Best Hits
Boxes whose autos, relics and numbered cards have the highest median price.
A hit is an auto, a relic, or any card with a stated print run. A box needs at least 50 priced hits to appear here.
Everyday Boxes with the Best Typical Price
Among boxes where at least 40% of the cards list under $5, the ones whose cards have the highest median price.
Median lowest listed price across every card and parallel in the box other than base cards. Boxes need at least 100 priced cards to appear here.
Mostly Filler
Boxes where the largest share of cards, base cards aside, list for under $2.
Measured over every priced card and parallel in the box other than base cards. Boxes need at least 100 priced cards to appear here.
Who the Market Is Chasing
The most sought after name in each sport, measured against what a typical card of the same print run asks.
The dollar figure is the median asking price across every card we hold for that player. The multiplier compares that price to the going rate for cards of the same print run, so it reflects demand rather than scarcity. Raw and graded cards are both included, and graded listings typically ask more.
Average Rookie Card Price
The average lowest asking price for every rookie card in the catalog, by sport.
Validated rookie cards only, not prospects. A sport appears once it has enough priced rookies for the average to mean anything.
The Rookies Being Chased
The three most chased rookies in each sport, on the same basis as above: what their cards ask against a typical card of the same print run. Unnumbered cards count too, compared against other unnumbered cards.
Validated rookie cards only, not prospects. Rookies have a smaller sample than the panel above, since each has just one season of product, and a sport appears once it has rookies priced at all. Raw and graded cards are both included, and graded listings typically ask more.
This Season's Rookies Being Chased
The three most chased rookies from each sport's newest rookie class, on the same basis as above. Every sport runs on its own calendar, so each group names its class.
Validated rookie cards only, not prospects. A sport moves to its newest class once at least three of its rookies have enough priced cards to rank, and shows the previous class until then. Raw and graded cards are both included, and graded listings typically ask more.
Every price on this page is the lowest current asking price on eBay for that card, not a sale price and not an average of the market. Figures are recalculated daily from the full catalog.
